We’re hiring a Membership Specialist based in Alexandria, LA to engage families, support volunteers, and recruit new members. If you enjoy working with youth and adults, building relationships, and making a difference in your community, this could be the perfect role for you!
POSITION OVERVIEW
Membership Growth & Recruitment
- Spark interest in Girl Scouts by reaching out to prospective girls and adults by phone, email, and in person.
- Follow up with new leads quickly and professionally to answer questions and invite them to join.
- Add interested families and volunteers to our system and match them with opportunities in their area.
- Achieve personal membership growth goals while fostering meaningful connections within your community.
Support & Customer Care
- Serve as the go-to contact for membership-related questions and support.
- Walk new members and volunteers through the sign-up and onboarding process.
- Handle membership questions and issues with care and accuracy, including tracking support cases.
Data & Planning
- Keep good records of outreach and progress using Salesforce and other tools.
- Review reports and data to help shape outreach strategies and meet goals.
- Help us spot trends and opportunities to reach underrepresented communities.
Volunteer Engagement & Mentorship
- Be a steady, encouraging resource for new and returning troop volunteers.
- Offer phone-based mentorship and training support, especially in areas like troop management and Girl Scout tools.
- Help create and refine onboarding and resource materials.
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with your fellow Membership team members to share ideas and updates.
- Provide backup support to other areas of the council as needed.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in every conversation and connection.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Associate's degree or relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Reliable transportation to travel to appointments, meetings, and events.
- Access to reliable internet and an effective home workspace.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and overtime if required
Required Skills
- Basic to intermediate experience with Windows use and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
- Membership in Girl Scouts (upon hire).
- Strong account management skills, demonstrating the ability to nurture member and volunteer relationships effectively.
- Strong communication skills for positive and engaging interaction with existing and potential new members and volunteers.
- Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
