Mission: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
Purpose: The Cookie Cupboard Manager coordinates the onsite logistics for volunteers picking up cookie orders throughout the Girl Scout Cookie Program. This individual serves as a point of contact and representative of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, providing exceptional customer service and support to volunteers.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet volunteers in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
- Accurately fulfill cookie orders and process exchanges, damages, adjustments, and returns as needed.
- Enter, update, and verify inventory and transaction data within the Smart Cookies online management system.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support product accountability throughout the Cookie Program.
- Inventory monitoring and communicate any inventory needs, discrepancies, or concerns to council staff in a timely manner.
- Answer basic volunteer questions regarding cookie orders, inventory, pickup procedures, and Cookie Program policies.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe cookie cupboard environment.
- Follow all Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and responsible stewardship of council assets and inventory.
- Build strong relationships with volunteers and council staff while fostering a welcoming environment that reflects the values and mission of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa.
The Cookie Cupboard Manager should be comfortable using computers, email, and online systems and possess strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Hours: Part-Time, Seasonal. Mid-January through late March. Hours vary throughout the Cookie Program season, from approximately 8 to 25 hours per week.
Location: Council Bluffs and Sioux City
Salary: $17/hour
Approximate Schedule: This seasonal role supports the 2026 Girl Scout Cookie Program from January through March. Hours are concentrated around scheduled cookie cupboard operations and product distribution dates.

Please note: Shifts may end earlier than scheduled if all volunteer orders have been fulfilled. Some additional planning and preparation time may be added based on operational needs and personal preference.
Physical Demands: The Cookie Cupboard Manager will typically be standing or on their feet for most of the day. Some repeated bending and lifting is required (up to 20 lbs.). Must be able to dress appropriately for the weather, as they may be outside or exposed to cold temperatures.
Additional Details: A cell phone is required. Reliable transportation to and from the cookie cupboard location is required. Must have ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with council staff and fellow volunteers and a commitment to supporting the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the mission of Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. Previous experience in customer service, inventory management, volunteer support, or a related role is helpful but not required.
