Pay Range: $23.08-26.44 per hour

Reports To: Volunteer Relations Director

Date: December 2025

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Terms: Regular, Year-Round, Full-Time, Hybrid-Field

Supervisory Responsibility: Adult Volunteers

GENERAL PURPOSE: Training Specialists are responsible for coordinating the delivery of in-person and live online training for Girl Scouts of Colorado volunteers. Training Specialists administer all aspects of the volunteer training program, including coordinating volunteer trainers, managing organization for in-person volunteer trainings and training webinars, and supporting the maintenance of the volunteer training curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ***(Employees are held accountable for all duties of this job)

· Manages volunteer training schedule for live training sessions (both online and in-person).

· Manages all event coordination for in-person trainings including but not limited to:

  •  Securing event locations
  •  Scheduling volunteer trainers or facilitating trainings as needed
  •  Preparing training kits or materials
  •  Preparing event registration information to submit to registration team
  •  Managing and distributing training rosters
  •  Tracking and reporting on training completion and engagement

· Prepares messaging and contributes to marketing efforts to drive volunteer engagement with training and development opportunities in coordination with Membership and Marketing and Communications teams.

· Provides timely communication to customer inquiries about volunteer training

· Schedules and coordinates team of volunteer trainers, including recruitment, onboarding, and coaching, to deliver robust training and development opportunities to all Girl Scouts of Colorado volunteers

· Coordinates volunteer recognition for volunteer trainers

· Supports the maintenance of volunteer training curriculum, including:

  •  Gathering feedback from volunteer trainers and training participants to inform needed adjustments, future courses, and current volunteer support needs
  •  Reviewing training curriculum for necessary program or policy updates on a quarterly basis
  •  Developing training outlines for in-person and online trainings including both foundational and enrichment trainings

· Performs other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Collaborate extensively with the other members of the volunteer success team to ensure volunteer training needs are being fulfilled and to drive volunteer participation in training and development opportunities.

· Collaborate with other members of the volunteer success team to ensure consistent delivery of the council volunteer success methodology including conflict interventions, volunteer training, and retention strategies.

· Collaborate with the customer care and volunteer administration teams to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries and accuracy of membership data.

· Support the efforts and commitments of Girl Scouts of Colorado in pluralism and diversity throughout the organization and within each community served.

· Embrace diversity and inclusiveness by contributing to positive relationships between diverse racial, ethnic, and social groups in the Council as a whole and between employees and volunteers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Formal Training

· No formal education requirements

· Training in adult learning and group facilitation preferred

Experience

· Minimum of two years’ experience in event management or training or in a related field such as project management, program delivery, or volunteer management required.

· Experience developing programs, training, and curriculum for adult learning audiences is desired.

· Volunteer management experience is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong planning and organizational skills are required, including proven success in event planning or event coordination.

· Experience working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communication specialties.

· Elevated level of interpersonal skills, strong verbal, and written communication skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills demonstrated through:

  •  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret relevant publications, policies, and procedures.
  •  Ability to draft reports.
  •  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, volunteers, and the public.

· Excellent organizational skills

· Effective communication skills including verbal and written presentation.

· Night and weekend availability is required.

· Ability to work in a team environment with other departments.

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and assist other staff with these efforts.

· Knowledge of Girl Scout program desired.

· Bilingual and bicultural skills desired yet not required.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management systems.

Additional Requirements

· Must be able to pass a criminal background check acceptable to GSCO standards.

· Access to registered transportation with insurance at required state levels to conduct business statewide.

· Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the Girl Scout insurance company standards.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED

· Computer and related software, telephone, e-mail, fax machines, copiers and equipment commonly found in an office environment. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Variable working schedule including evenings, weekends and some overnight stays.

· Regular travel throughout council jurisdiction required.

· Ability to communicate effectively with employees, volunteers, customers and vendors.

· Access to transportation with insurance at required state levels to conduct business statewide.

· Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the Girl Scout insurance company.

· May be required to transport Girl Scout materials weighing up to 30 pounds from a vehicle to a building as well as preparing facilities for meetings, with or without assistance.
