Summer Camp Staff

Girl Scouts of Central Texas mission is to help build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. One way that we do this is by creating a space for young girls to develop these skills in the outdoors. Which is why GSCTX has established these two amazing summer overnight camps for our Girl Scouting community. These camps include Bluebonnet Shores and Camp Texlake. 

Bluebonnet Shores is in Belton, Texas and sits on about 150 acres right on Lake Belton and Camp Texlake is in Spicewood, Texas and sits on about 455 acres on Lake Travis. Our camps provide what we call “camping with a twist” meaning that the campers and staff participate in traditional Girl Scout camp activities such as archery, kayaking, outdoor cooking, and swimming while also interacting in themed programming such as “Dino Camp” at Bluebonnet Shores and “Glamp Camp” at Camp Texlake. We also have some day camp only opportunities available. 

All our programming is geared toward girl lead programming where the campers choose what activities they want to participate in and activities that the staff will be interested in as well. At camp we believe that there is something for everyone and we hope you will get to come and experience our summer camps and our community. 

Working at Camp: 

Camp is an amazing experience that you will not be able to find anywhere else, and we want everyone to be able to share in the joys that come with being a camp staff member all summer, however, we understand that committing to a full summer is hard for some. Because of this we will accept a four-week commitment that does not need to be consecutive. You can even split up your work commitment to different weeks throughout the summer if that’s a better option for you. 

Dates for camp: Paid all staff training is May 31st – June 5th (mandatory) 

Summer Camp Dates: June 7th – July 24th 

 While you’re at camp we pay for your room and board (which means you live at camp during your contract and meals are included (Breakfast, Lunch, snack, and Dinner)) along with great pay!

 Unit Counselors: $425/week- Camp Texlake and Bluebonnet Shores 

 Unit Leaders: $475/week- Camp Texlake and Bluebonnet Shores 

 Lifeguard Level I: $375/week- Camp Texlake and Bluebonnet Shores

 Lifeguard Level II: $400/week- Camp Texlake and Bluebonnet Shores

 Summer Kitchen Manager: $550/week- Bluebonnet Shores

 Summer Ranger: $375/week- Bluebonnet Shores

 Adventure Program Facilitator: $450/week- Bluebonnet Shores
