We are the proud facilitators of Girl Scout camp at five Indiana locations, conveners of thousands of Girl Scout programs with nearly 600 community partners and serve thousands more community members each year at our STEM Center of Excellence and Founders Lodge Event and Conference Center. 


About the Role:


What You Will Do:


The Kitchen Supervisor will plan food service for the summer camp season and supervise the kitchen staff.


How You Will Lead: 

  1. To work with the summer camp kitchen supervisor to ensure that all food has been ordered and there is enough inventory to supply the kitchen’s needs.
  2. Supervise kitchen staff and volunteers and coordinate kitchen staff schedules.
  3. Train summer staff on Kitchen safety procedures and general rules of kitchen/dining hall.
  4. Responsible for inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
  5. Responsible for keeping an accurate budget for summer food costs.
  6. Function in conjunction with camping programs and communicate with administrative staff as necessary.
  7. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned, and other duties may be assigned as required.
  8. Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership.

  • Fostering Diversity - Understands and embraces the differences that individuals bring to Girl Scouting; encourages and fosters the unique contributions and varied talents of diverse groups and individuals; values, develops, nurtures, uses, and celebrates group and individual diversity; removes barriers to participation (holds meetings in accessible locations, uses translators, etc.); strives to ensure a friendly and harmonious environment for girls, adult volunteers, and staff; treats others in an unbiased manner; challenges the biased behavior of others; adheres to organizational diversity goals.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Experience in mass food cooking and serving
  • Possess supervisory skills
  • Ability to relate well and communicate with others
  • Desire and ability to work in camp setting


Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.


Requirements

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to stand on your feet for an extended period.
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
