We are the proud facilitators of Girl Scout camp at five Indiana locations, conveners of thousands of Girl Scout programs with nearly 600 community partners and serve thousands more community members each year at our STEM Center of Excellence and Founders Lodge Event and Conference Center. 


What You Will Do:


The On-Call Shop Associate (Mobile) is responsible for operating the Girl Scout Pop Up shops serving the Girl Scout membership, public, and GSCI staff.

This person will work primarily on Saturdays & Sundays with occasional hours throughout the week. 


How You Will Lead: 


• Assist customers at the Pop-Up shops with selecting Girl Scout merchandise. 

• Assist in maintaining the appearance of the shop. 

• Packs merchandise from main shop that is relevant to pop-up events.

• Set up and tear down Pop-Up shops at regularly scheduled times.

• Assist in shop upkeep and stock functions- including computer/data entry, marking merchandise, restocking merchandise.

• Responsible for the on-time opening and closing of the shop considering travel and setting up times necessary.

• Assist in the sale of merchandise at special events when needed. 

• Inform and update the Director of Retail Sales about any items that will benefit the operation of the shop.

• Advise the Director of Properties of maintenance issues of the service center, reporting issues as needed.

• Works in the main shop when needed. 

• Develops depth of knowledge regarding the design of the Girl Scout Leadership.

• Experience and can easily articulate to any stakeholder the virtues of the organization. 

• Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and amongst the membership.

• Other duties are assigned to support the goals and objectives of GSCI.

  • Organizational Knowledge  - Understands Girl Scout purpose and organizational structure, including  functions, operations, and interrelationships; keeps up-to-date on key GSUSA  and council-specific policies, priorities, processes, and practices (for  example, Safety-Wise); understands how his/her job relates to and supports  GSUSA goals, including increasing and developing membership and volunteer  support; is aware of the organizational culture and knows how work is  accomplished; knows the roles and responsibilities of staff and volunteers; is  familiar with membership policies, standards, and resources.
  • Information Management - Accesses, organizes, and manages information  effectively; maintains basic computer literacy with relevant software (i.e.,  databases, word processors and web management); keeps accurate and effectively  organized records (i.e., spreadsheets or databases of donors, benefits, budget  information, filing systems); seeks out and applies new technology in own  program area to improve work processes.

Requirements

 What We Are Looking at: 


One year of customer service or retail sales experience, preferred.

•  Basic 10 key cashier  operations. 

•  Customer service skills.

•  Customer, volunteer, and girl focused. 

•  Merchandise management. 

•  Detail oriented and accurate cashier practices. 

• Flexible work hours,  including evenings and weekends required.

• Must have reliable  transportation.

• Must hold membership in  the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout  Promise and Law.

• Must complete a criminal  background check.


Physical Demands & Work Environment:


· Ability to consistently lift to 40 pounds.

· Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods  of time.
