POSITION SUMMARY
The Camp Manager is a seasonal leadership position responsible for supporting the daily operations of the summer overnight camp. Working closely with the Outdoor Program Manager, this position ensures a safe, fun, and mission-centered experience for campers and staff alike. The Camp Manager helps lead and support camp staff, assists with training and evaluation, and helps maintain a positive and professional camp environment.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Participates in planning and preparation for staff training and summer camp
- Participates in training opportunities that support the camp mission
- Communicate with returning and potential staff
- Participates in council-wide meetings and events that are relevant to summer overnight camp
- Leads staff when the Outdoor Program Manager is unavailable
- Coordinates with the Outdoor Program Manager on staff training and evaluations
- Approves and organizes off-site trips
- Addresses any challenges that may arise
- Holds one-on-one meetings with supervisory staff
- Prepares all ACA documentation by the end of the season
- Completes documentation designated by the Outdoor Program Manager
- Attends orientation weekly
- Attend staff meetings
- Participates in camp activities as needed
- Follows camp rules and policies
- Maintains a positive attitude and professionalism with campers, parents, volunteers, and staff

Required
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- In keeping with our commitment to the Girl Scouts Law and Promise, our council places particular emphasis on teamwork, investment in the success of the organization, and commitment to each other. To align with those values, we expect that all team members will actively engage in ‘all call’ endeavors as announced by the organization periodically. There are times throughout our year when the work of other departments becomes heavy and/or critically timely. In the spirit of teamwork, we require that requests for assistance be met with collaborative enthusiasm by all team members. Examples may include but are not limited to—membership recruitment/renewal campaigns and efforts, product program logistics and support to include cookie cupboards and volunteer assistance, volunteer appreciation and engagement, retail inventory and delivery (among regional offices), program signature event participation, and support, and property maintenance/improvement as requested.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience

- Subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Strong human relations skills and can work well with people of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Solution-driven with the ability to effectively solve problems
HOURS AND TRAVEL
- Live onsite May 27-July 17 at Camp NOARK in Huntsville, AR
- Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
