Job Overview
We are seeking someone with a passion for working with children. You will work directly with a group of 15 children daily, from Pre-K to 1st grade. You will be responsible for their well-being, implementing programs, leading activities, serving snack, helping with homework/tutoring, assisting with clean-up, taking role, and more. This position will specifically be working in the afterschool program at Virginia Primary School.
This is a Part-Time position, offering 20 hours a week.
Schedule: Monday thru Thursday, 12pm to 5pm, and one Saturday a month. 12pm to 1:45pm at Girls Inc. of Bristol gathering materials and planning for the day. 2pm to 5pm at Virginia Primary School.
Duties
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's program objectives and implement Girls Inc. programming when needed.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to implement rules, activities, and best practices with the children.
- Create a supportive environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and open communication with the children and other staff.
- Communicate effectively with other program staff and instructors about daily schedule.
- Have the ability to plan programs, gather your own materials and implement the program with a group of 25 kids or more.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Have a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Must complete 2 background checks: Fingerprint (cost $63), and Central Registry before start date.
- Must receive and pay for a TB Screening before start date.
- Must complete 2 online trainings for a total of 4.5 training hours within 1 week of employment.
Pay: $14.25 per hour
