Position Summary:

The Medical Coordinator plays a vital administrative role in supporting the Medical Director and the medical team in delivering high-quality healthcare services to students. This position ensures the smooth operation of the Health Services department through effective coordination, communication, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Medical Director and nursing staff, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and internal communications.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with HIPAA and school policies.
  • Coordinate student appointments, follow-ups, and transportation for off-campus medical visits.
  • Respond promptly to student health needs, and be prepared to manage potentially difficult or emotional situations.
  • Facilitate communication as needed between the students, caregivers, guardians, and medical staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between Health Services and other departments, parents, and external healthcare providers.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with compliance tracking for immunizations, physicals, and other health requirements.
  • Support emergency response coordination and maintain readiness of medical documentation and supplies.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for internal use and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, some college a plus. Two years of experience in healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or school setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
