SEEKING
Equity Stage Managers for THE GLORIOUS DEATH OF COMRADE WHAT'S HIS NAME - a new musical comedy.
Local Stage Managers are encouraged to submit.
Project Description: The new musical comedy The Glorious Death of Comrade-What’s-His-Name follows Semyon, an unemployed grumbler during Stalin’s control of the Soviet Union. Believing suicide is his only ticket to fame and glory, Semyon finds himself besieged by a band of misfits hell bent on exploiting his death to spark a rebellion and topple the Communist regime. Chaos ensues as Semyon first embraces and then tries to wriggle free of his newfound status as a hero. The musical is written by an award winning musical team from the BMI musical theatre workshop. It has had several readings at which it was wonderfully received, 2 midtown Manhattan and one at Barrington Stage. Script available on request.
