Purpose of Position
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist with 2–4 years of experience to support our Human Resources department, with a strong focus on benefits administration and employee relations. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day HR support to employees and managers, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws, and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Act as the main point of contact for employee benefits questions, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
- Assist employees regarding benefit claim issues and plan changes.
- Support annual open enrollment process, including employee communication, system updates, and compliance with regulations.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS/Payroll System and provides vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Collection of Benefit Dues for Employees on prolonged leave of absence
Employee Relations
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers on workplace policies, practices, and procedures.
- Assist with investigating and resolving employee concerns, escalating sensitive issues as appropriate.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment while supporting fair and consistent policy application.
- Provide coaching to employees on conflict resolution, performance, and policy interpretation.
General HR Support
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes.
- Assisting with compliance audits related to but not limited to 401k, benefits, social compliance, 1-9s, etc.
- Maintain, review, and protect employee records in HRIS and personnel files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare reports and analyze HR metrics as needed.
- Ensure Posters/Compliance at all plants is properly displayed and audited annually
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with emphasis in benefits administration and employee relations.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish required
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Experience in manufacturing or food production environment is preferred.
- Strong leadership, self-motivation, initiative, and proactive approach.
- Schedule flexibility is required.
Compensation: Starting at $65,000 Annually
