Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Yard Jockey Driver to join our team at Giorgio Fresh, a leading food manufacturing company. The Yard Jockey Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within our yard, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trailer Movement: Safely move trailers to and from loading docks, staging areas, and parking spots within the yard.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trailers and yard equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate trailer movements and ensure timely loading and unloading.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including trailer movement logs and inspection reports.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to any safety incidents or emergencies in the yard, following established protocols and reporting to the Transportation Manager.
- Training: Participate in ongoing safety training programs and workshops to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL A driver's license with a clean driving record. (required)
- Previous experience as a Yard Jockey Driver or similar role preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a food manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and operate yard equipment.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
