Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Purchasing and Materials departments to ensure efficient procurement and inventory management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess inventory needs and resolve supply issues
- Analyze market trends and delivery systems to identify sourcing opportunities
- Recommend supplier bids for approval to senior leadership
- Secure materials and supplies to meet production schedules
- Monitor budgets and recommend cost-saving measures
- Prepare reports on market conditions and merchandise costs
- Resolve vendor grievances and ensure contract compliance
- Administer NetSuite and OffSight systems for purchasing and inventory
- Mentor and train purchasing staff, conduct performance reviews, and manage departmental workflow
- Participate in hiring and onboarding processes for direct reports
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in purchasing or related capacity, previous experience working with diverse populations preferred. Proven background in production environment.
- Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Certificate of personal auto liability insurance.
- Other Requirements:
- Understanding of business and management principles.
- Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate to others when
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team and independently.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally to attend meetings, visit sites, conferences, etc. as required
