Reporting directly to the CHRO, this role administers core HR functions including benefits, garnishments, leave of absence programs, unemployment claims, payroll support, and HR records management.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate employee data, and supporting efficient HR operations across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs and support day-to-day benefits operations
- Coordinate open enrollment, including communications, system updates, and vendor collaboration
- Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS and vendor systems
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries and resolve issues
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and ensure accurate payroll deductions
- Assist with benefits audits and reporting (e.g., ACA, Form 5500)
- Respond to wage garnishment orders from courts, agencies, and vendors
- Review documentation for accuracy and legal compliance before processing
- Communicate with employees regarding garnishment requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines and reporting are met
- Manage unemployment insurance claims, including preparing and submitting responses
- Maintain organized documentation files
- Help mitigate unemployment costs through timely and accurate responses
- Process employee changes impacting payroll
- Support payroll accuracy, including timekeeping, deductions, and employee data
- Respond to employee payroll-related questions
- Receive, review, file, and distribute HR-related correspondence
- Ensure timely responses to sensitive or time-sensitive communications
- Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and new hire documentation
- Safeguard confidentiality of all employee information
- Monitor and manage the shared HR inbox, routing inquiries as appropriate
- Prepare and administer leave documentation, including FMLA
- Communicate eligibility and requirements to employees
- Review medical certifications for completeness and compliance
- Coordinate benefits processes during leave, including repayment tracking
- Maintain accurate and compliant leave records
- Assist with performance review administration and tracking
- Support HR projects, audits, and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve HR processes
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC)
QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist or related experience required
- 5 years preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
- Solid knowledge of HR practices and employment laws
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
