Kids Ministry Director

POSITION:

Kids Ministry Director (ages birth through grade 5)

Full-Time Salary Exempt

Reports to: Executive Pastor

Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday

Background Check: Required

Salary: Open to negotiation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Minimum two years' experience with Kids Ministry.
• Experience in deploying the Orange curriculum a plus.

• Effective communicator (written and verbal).

• Gifted and engaging teacher of children.
• Strategic thinker, planner, and implementer.
• Pastoral heart, with a core value of confidentiality.
• Team player with a collaborative spirit who has a “get it done” mentality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ministry Leadership

• Cast vision and provide strategic leadership for all Kids Ministry environments and experiences.
• Partner with parents to equip and encourage them in their child’s spiritual formation.
• Recruit, train, and develop a robust team of volunteer leaders.
• Select and implement age-appropriate curriculum that teaches biblical truths.
• Lead with radical hospitality to all children and families—first-time guests and regular attenders alike.
• Plan and execute special events and programs for children and families.
• Create and launch new ministry opportunities that encourage spiritual growth.
• Promote small group experiences for children.
• Design and implement service and mission opportunities for kids and families.
• Prioritize the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of kids and ensure a Safe Sanctuary environment in all ministry settings.
• Collaborate with Adult Discipleship to provide parenting classes and learning opportunities.
• Stay informed about and learn from successful children’s ministry models and trends nationwide.
• Be proactive in looking for ways to grow and strengthen our ministry to children and their families.

Administrative and Team Management

• Lead and support the daily ministry and administrative needs of Kids Ministry.
• Represent Kids Ministry at Discipleship staff meetings and other church gatherings.
• Oversee volunteer team recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluation.
• Ensure timely and effective communication with staff, families, and volunteers.
• Manage the Kids Ministry budget and related expenditures.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff gatherings.
• Provide prompt follow-up to parent and volunteer inquiries.
• Assist with communication requests and logistical coordination.
• Adapt to evolving ministry responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
