What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Gingerbread House, Inc.?
Part-time Behavior Support Direct Support Professional position. Evenings and Weekends (set rotating schedule), approximately 25 hours weekly. This position requires the candidate to provide one-to-one monitoring and appropriate interventions and redirection. Candidate must possess patience with repetitive behavior, creativity in providing redirection and willingness to be calm when intervention is needed. Will also provide general assistance working with other DSPs to include daily care and assistance for assigned individual and interaction with other individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties include assistance with ADLs, helping with meals, medication administration, and other daily tasks. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) certification or Certified Medication Tech certificate preferred; CPR/First Aid certified; other caregiving experience is a plus, i.e. CNA, HHA. Class E Driver's License is required. Training available to qualified candidates. Experience in a long-term care or supportive living environment preferred. Competitive pay scale based on experience!
