What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Technician position at Gilson Snow?
PRODUCTION TEAM — SNOWBOARD & SKI MANUFACTURING
Gilson Snow | Selinsgrove, PA | Full-time, day shift (Mon–Fri) | Multiple openings | No experience required
Most manufacturing jobs have you making the same part for years. Here, you'll build snowboards and skis that people ride down mountains — and we'll teach you how to do it. Gilson is scaling up production, and we have positions opening across multiple areas of the shop, including finishing work, lamination assembly, and edge room prep.
ABOUT GILSON
Our associates are the backbone of our operation and the key to our success. Founded in 2013, we've grown from a basement prototype shop into a manufacturer of high-quality snowboards and skis. To keep up with demand without ever compromising quality, we need a team we can trust and depend on.
THE WORK
Every Gilson board is built, laminated, edged, structured, and tuned right here in Selinsgrove. Depending on where you land, you might be laying up the wood cores and materials that become a board, prepping and finishing edges, or running the CNC stone grinder and drive-fed systems that give every ski and snowboard its final structure and tune — skills you won't find in a typical manufacturing job, and that we'll train you on from day one. We'll match you to a department based on your strengths and where we're growing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build, laminate, edge, finish, or tune skis and snowboards to Gilson's quality standard
- Learn to operate real production equipment — presses, edge prep tools, CNC and drive-fed finishing systems
- Inspect your work and catch blemishes before a board moves down the line
- Track your daily production and quality numbers — they're what drive your raises
- Keep your station and equipment clean, calibrated, and ready
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
- Reliability — show up, every day (we pay extra for it; see below)
- Willingness to learn equipment and processes we'll teach you
- Attention to detail and pride in finished work
Nice to have (not required):
- Any machine operation, woodworking, or manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with ski/snowboard tuning, or you just love to ride
PAY: YOU CONTROL YOUR RAISE
We pay competitive wages for the area, and our four-tier productivity system means your pay is tied to your output and quality. Hit the production and quality targets for the next tier and your rate goes up. On top of your base rate, our perfect-attendance bonus adds to every hour you work, paid out every pay period. Top-tier producers with clean attendance out-earn posted production wages across the region.
PTO & BENEFITS
While work makes up a large portion of life, we believe a balance between work and play is essential to quality performance and a fun atmosphere. That's why Gilson has a progressive PTO policy that encourages employees to live a holistic lifestyle. Full details on PTO, benefits, and the tier system are in the Gilson Employee Handbook, which we'll walk through with you during your first week.
