About the OpportunityGilroy Chevrolet/Cadillac, a busy and growing dealership, is looking for an experienced Parts Manager to lead a high-performing parts department that supports fixed operations, retail customers, and wholesale business. This position is responsible for inventory strategy and stocking levels, team leadership, departmental profitability, and strong day-to-day support of the service and warranty teams.
The right candidate will bring dealership parts experience, strong knowledge of General Motors or other OEM procedures, and the ability to maintain an organized, profitable, and customer-focused department in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all daily operations of the dealership parts department
Maintain proper inventory levels to support service, warranty, retail, and wholesale demand
Manage OEM and approved aftermarket parts ordering, stocking, returns, and obsolescence
Partner closely with service advisors, technicians, and warranty administrators to ensure timely parts availability
Monitor special orders, backorders, emergency orders, and aged inventory
Ensure accurate receiving, binning, cataloging, and inventory control practices
Conduct cycle counts and manage annual physical inventory processes
Track and improve departmental sales, gross profit, expense control, and fill rate performance
Lead, coach, schedule, and develop parts counter and warehouse staff
Maintain compliance with manufacturer policies, warranty return guidelines, and dealership standards
Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM representatives, vendors, and wholesale accounts
Promote a clean, safe, efficient, and professional work environment
Qualifications:
3 years of automotive parts experience, with prior leadership experience in a dealership environment strongly preferred
Strong understanding of domestic OEM parts operations, manufacturer programs, and return processes
Experience with dealership management systems such as TEKION, CDK Drive, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack.
Proven ability to manage inventory, improve processes, and drive departmental performance
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a high-volume dealership setting
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Background:
Previous experience as a Parts Manager or Assistant Parts Manager in a domestic franchise dealership
Experience supporting a high-volume service drive and technician team
Familiarity with wholesale growth and customer retention strategies
