What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Intern position at Gilpin County?
Public Health is seeking a student intern to work on a project that will include the development and finalizing of standard operating procedure (SOP’s) for core public health programs and services. The SOPS will include public complaint investigations, well water testing, emergency preparedness, septic system permitting, behavioral and mental health referrals and communicable disease investigation and reporting. The activities that go into developing the SOP’s include; in-person shadowing of the programs core services, documenting work-flows and translating existing practices into standardized procedure that can be used internally. Totals for this unpaid practicum experience will equal 120 hours. Intern applicants must currently be enrolled in a public health graduate program and apply through their university career services.
