Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight, coordination, recruitment, training and scheduling of all volunteer staff. The Volunteer Coordinator adheres to and promotes the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the Gilmore Car Museum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Volunteer Coordinator assists the Director of Development and Membership in coordinating all the functions of the volunteer staff in support of the following:
· Daily museum functions such as greeting guests, providing group tours, coordinating vintage rides.
· Annual weekend shows, plus themed special events
· Weekly Gilmore Wednesday Night Cruise-Ins Car Shows, held from 5pm-8pm May through October
· Winter Wonderland evening drive-through and walk-through holiday lights programming in December.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules volunteer staff for events listed above and others as required.
- Trains volunteers regarding GCM collections, exhibits, buildings and grounds.
- Manages and mentors the volunteers in GCM hospitality standards.
- Fosters open communication, problem solving, and teamwork.
- Tracks, reviews, approves and records volunteer hours.
- Assists Director as needed in the planning of themed events.
- Coordinates Volunteer Annual Recognition Luncheon.
Education, Skills, and Experience - Preferred
A summary of the experiences and skills for the position:
- Minimum of High School diploma; some college preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience planning, staffing and coordinating teams.
- Strong organizational and implementation skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
- Budgeting, building, and record keeping experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office software.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility for insurance coverage.
- Previous supervisory experience with emphasis on guest relations preferred.
Work Environment
This position typically operates in a conventional office environment within the setting of a large 501(c)3 museum. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. For most onsite events, the work environment is outdoors on a 90-acre campus – which will range from warm conditions in the summer months, to cold conditions in the winter months. Gilmore Car Museum is an at will employer.
Physical Demands
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to lift to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel or crouch. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, but louder during outdoor events.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Regular workdays are scheduled Monday- Friday. These days may be adjusted during different times of the year or during a particular week, depending on Museum activities, and may require working evenings and nights when events are scheduled.

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time due to changing priorities of the museum or other factors.
Expected Pay: 17.00-18.00 per hour.
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16.0 – 28.0 per week
