POSITION: Pickleball Attendant
DEPARTMENT: Player Services
STATUS: Full Time/Part Time
LICENSE: Level III
REPORTS TO: Pickleball/Arcade Manger
Job Summary: The Pickleball Attendant is responsible for creating a fun, welcoming, and engaging experience for all guests in the pickleball area. This position ensures that courts, equipment, and surrounding areas are maintained properly while providing exceptional customer service and assisting guests with gameplay, events, and facility needs.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service throughout their pickle ball experience
- Monitor pickleball courts and surrounding areas to ensure safe and proper operation
- Assist guests with court reservations, paddle rentals, scoring questions, and gameplay assistance
- Ensure courts, seating areas, and equipment remain clean, organized, and properly maintained and sanitized
- Report equipment damage or maintenance concerns promptly to management
- Promote Tournaments, leagues, lesson, and special events to encourage guests to participate
- Build positive guest relationships by engaging with players and creating a welcoming atmosphere
- Observe activity within assigned areas and respond appropriately to guest needs
- Handle routing guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary
- Encourage a fun, energetic, and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels
- Assist with setting up and breaking down courts, events, and tournaments as needed
- Enforce facilities rules, safety guidelines, and company policies in a professional manner
- Maintain knowledge of pickleball rules, scoring, and gameplay to assist guests effectively
- Ensure all guests feel acknowledged and supported during their visit
- Assist in maintaining a clean facility by removing trash, organizing equipment, and sanitizing shared items
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Communicate effectively with management and team members regarding guest needs and operational concerns
- Empower to resolve minor guest concerns quickly and professionally while involving management when necessary
Experience and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain Level III KRGC Gaming License.
- Basic knowledge of the pickleball game preferred
- Previous sports, recreation, or hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality
- Must have the ability to work flexible schedules which include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Must maintain professional appearance in accordance with the Gilley’s Team Member Handbook
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be physically mobile with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to respond effectively to visual and audible cues
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, and lift as required to perform job
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time including shifts of 8-12 hours
- Must be able to work in fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of urgency and attention to detail
