Gillespie Group is hiring a Leasing Specialist! The Leasing Specialist has a passion for sales, organization, and customer service. This position will connect prospects with their perfect home, guide them through the leasing process, and help drive the community’s success from tour to renewal.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm working in Lansing, MI. Position provides leasing support for 9 residential properties. Some Saturday's may be required depending on business need.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create Memorable First Impressions
- Conduct engaging community and apartment tours that highlight features, benefits, and value to prospective residents.
- Apply product knowledge to match customer needs, successfully closing leases.
- Complete pre-tour unit and tour path walks daily to ensure every apartment and tour path meets 5-star standards.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the property and competitive market through site visits, online research, and phone surveys.
Drive Leasing Success and Revenue
- Execute follow-up with prospects to convert leads into leases using proven leasing techniques.
- Communicate renewal benefits and address any concerns preventing lease extensions.
- Maximize revenue through exceptional tours, personalized follow-up, and effective closing skills.
Operate with Organization and Efficiency
- Manage calendars to track prospect tours, appointments, and meetings.
- Utilize KNOCK, Microsoft Office, and other property management software for accurate documentation and communication.
- Adapt seamlessly to working with different apartment home styles and layouts.
- Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal Fair Housing regulations.
Collaborate and Support Community Excellence
- Work closely with the leasing and service teams to achieve property performance goals.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication between departments.
- Contribute to the community’s cleanliness, curb appeal, and welcoming atmosphere on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior leasing experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Understanding of sales and marketing concepts
Gillespie Group requires a background and drug screen as a condition of employment. A valid driving license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance are required. The position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle to fulfill all the job’s functions.
