Overview
Gillespie Group is hiring a Grounds Crew Member to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and beautification of outdoor spaces at our commercial properties. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, performing a range of landscaping, horticultural, and groundskeeping tasks.
This position typically works Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM. The position may require early mornings, evenings or weekends depending on weather conditions during the winter season.
Duties
- Groundskeeping: Daily trash pick up, clean up of curbs and sidewalks, sweep parking lots, clean out carports, remove pet waste, salting and snow removal on sidewalks and ADA parking
- Gardening: Spray or pull weeds in parking lots, carports and sidewalks, dead head and water flowers, bed clean up in both the spring and fall, trim shrubs, lay mulch, maintain rain gardens and/or flower pots
- Service & Maintenance: Complete basic service tasks such as: dumpster corral repairs, light checks on both property interior and exterior, coordinate daily activities with service supervisor, door painting, touch up trim, touch up post, etc., minor exterior repairs, downspouts are clear and working, splash guards are in place and in good shape, lower siding repairs, etc.
- Interior Care: Routinely wipe down commonly touched surfaces (door handles, elevator buttons, etc), deep clean hallways, such as fixtures, fans, etc., at least bi-annually or annually as needed, clean dryer vents
Experience
- High school diploma, general education degree or related Vocational Training and/or equivalent work experience
- Basic knowledge of grounds/landscape and maintenance preferred
- Ability to receive and follow detailed instructions, and ensure detailed instructions are followed
- Ability to display effective communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Gillespie Group requires a background and drug screen as a condition of employment. A valid driving license, vehicle, and current automobile insurance are required. The position requires individuals to furnish their own vehicle to fulfill all the job’s functions.
