Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to operate various types of trucks and transport freight safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience with route driving, load and unload operations, and handling different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks. This role requires a professional with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and customer service to ensure timely deliveries across designated routes.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Drive routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
- Assist with securing cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Follow all safety protocols related to driving, cargo handling, and vehicle maintenance
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type (manual transmission experience preferred)
- Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery
- Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures and freight handling techniques
- Previous experience with forklift operation is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to drive safely over long distances and in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance standards for commercial driving
