Geotechnical DRILLER / DRILLER’S ASSISTANT
The Waukesha office of Giles Engineering is currently looking for self-motivated, hard working individuals who like to travel occasionally and are problem solvers. By drilling test borings, our Drillers and Driller’s Assistants are the first, integral step in the geotechnical engineering process by assisting and operating our company-owned fleet of drill rigs.
Your day to day projects may change and fluctuate but the core of your responsibilities would be:
- Operate and maintain drill rigs, associated vehicles and equipment
- Perform geotechnical and environmental drilling
- Perform various drilling activities including soil drilling, rock coring, sampling, classification, in-situ testing and monitoring well installation
- Responsible for maintaining necessary field logs/records and filing reports
- Responsible for safety procedures on-site
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record. CDL preferred within 6 months
- Must meet DOT physical requirements
- Ability to consistently lift 40-100 pounds daily
- Giles is a drug free zone and performs random drug testing per DOT requirements
