Giles’ Environmental Division is responsible for guiding our clients through the complex environmental aspects of property transactions and site development. Giles specializes in Brownfield redevelopment projects that transform blighted and environmentally contaminated properties into vital community resources. Giles works in partnership with developers and regulatory agencies to ensure responsible redevelopment that is protective of both human health and the environment.

Environmental / Geologist

Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced candidate in geology, hydrogeology, geosciences, and/or environmental engineering. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of environmental projects from the initial project scoping stage through project completion. Projects will be both long-term and short-term in duration and be of varying complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal preparation, developing project strategy, and cost estimating
  • Oversee complex long-term and short-term projects
  • Maintain a budget and monitor project performance
  • Communicate and build relationships with new and long-term clients
  • Act as a liaison between the client and applicable regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate field activities
  • Prepare technical reports and complete necessary regulatory reporting
  • Work in collaboration with Giles’ offices nationwide
  • Occasional travel for meetings or project oversight
  • 3 years experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, geosciences, or environmental engineering (required)
  • Master’s degree in geoscience-related subject (preferred)

Additional Qualifications

  • Registered PG in Texas a plus
  • Ability to lead
  • Current HAZWOPER Certification and OSHA 40-Hour Health and Safety Waste Site Worker Training and Annual Refresher
  • Licensed for Asbestos Identification Surveys (preferred) or ability to obtain
  • Licensed for Lead Based Paint Identification Surveys (preferred) or ability to obtain
  • Work in collaboration with Giles’ offices nationwide
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and time management skills
