Position Title: Lead Animal Care Technician
Position Summary:
The Lead Animal Care Technician assists with the daily operation of the animal shelter by providing advanced animal care, administering routine medical treatments, supporting adoptions, assisting with the foster and volunteer programs, and ensuring a clean, safe, and humane environment for animals and the public. This position serves as a lead animal care role and helps maintain continuity of shelter operations.

● Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour

Work Schedule
● Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
● Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
● Sunday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
● Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
● Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The schedule may be adjusted based on operational needs.
Essential Duties
● Provide daily care, feeding, cleaning, and enrichment for shelter animals.
● Administer vaccinations, medications, and other routine medical treatments as directed.
● Monitor animal health and behavior and report concerns.
● Maintain accurate medical, behavioral, and shelter records.
● Assist with animal intake, adoptions, and customer service.
● Support the shelter's foster program and volunteer program.
● Assist with animal transports and rescue coordination.
● Maintain shelter cleanliness, biosecurity, and inventory of supplies.
● Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in animal care, veterinary medicine, animal shelters, or animal welfare preferred. Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is strongly preferred. Must be able to safely handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments, work in a physically demanding environment, and provide excellent customer service.
