Gilbert CPAs is the largest locally owned accounting firm in Sacramento, serving individuals and organizations throughout California since 1984. We provide audit, tax, and consulting services to a diverse client base, including privately held businesses, nonprofits, governmental entities, educational institutions, and employee benefit plans.
We are excited to launch our Summer Sprint Internship Program, designed for driven students who want hands-on experience across multiple areas of public accounting. This immersive program offers a unique opportunity to explore our Audit, Tax, and ACT (Accounting Services) departments while developing foundational skills and gaining real-world experience.

Program Timing & Availability
This is a paid internship with an in-office schedule of 8-hour days, Monday through Thursday, giving interns hands-on experience during their chosen session.
The 2026 Summer Sprint Internship Program will be offered in two sessions. Applicants can select their preferred session(s) and share any availability constraints or scheduling conflicts in the application:
- Session 1: June 8 – June 26 (Monday–Thursday)
- Session 2: July 13 – July 30 (Monday–Thursday)
Program Overview
The Summer Sprint Internship is a rotational program where interns will:
- Gain exposure to Audit, Tax, and Accounting Services (ACT)
- Work alongside experienced professionals on a mock-client engagement
- Participate in training sessions and professional development activities
- Build relationships with peers and mentors across the firm
- Develop a well-rounded understanding of public accounting career paths
Responsibilities:
- Assist team members with the mock-client engagement across multiple departments
- Prepare and organize work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Perform basic accounting and analytical procedures
- Support tax preparation and audit processes
- Participate in internal meetings, trainings, and team collaboration activities
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or a related field
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general technology tools
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
