Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Systems Engineer II.

The Systems Engineer II is responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise systems in the data center, SaaS and Cloud environments, working with staff and stakeholders to develop technology strategies that address current and future needs, and advise management of risks to the Town. This position designs, evaluates, and recommends IT solutions and creates technical documentation. This position installs, configures, and maintains servers (physical/virtual), manages and designs enterprise backup/recovery solutions, and support of various technologies, including Active Directory, Enterprise Storage solutions, Azure and Azure Hybrid Stack, M365 and AWS system services, Microsoft Infrastructure services, Disaster Recovery, VMWare and NSX and IT security monitoring.

This department is currently working in a hybrid environment, with remote work. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point.

Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid) Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona by hire date.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt – ineligible for overtime compensation.

Candidates For The Systems Engineer II Position Must Possess

Salary Range: $84,475.58 - $126,713.37 Annually

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related field. However, a non-technical degree can be acceptable if complemented with the appropriate certifications and / or experience;
  • 5-10 years of Information Technology industry experience;
  • 3-5 years of Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/Group policy experience;
  • 3-5 years of Backup and Recovery solutions experience;
  • 2 years of Enterprise Email Application (Microsoft Exchange).
  • Must be able to pass PD background
  • Must participate in on call rotation
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

This position requires a pre-employment physical and/or drug screen.

Special Requirements

Special Requirement: Because of the confidential, sensitive nature of information handled, successful completion of an extensive Police Department Background Investigation is required.

At-will/Flsa Status

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Exempt - ineligible for overtime compensation.

Hybrid Designation

This position has been identified as an eligible position for a Hybrid work agreement. Modified work privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the department director; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue modified work arrangements at any point. Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid) Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the state of Arizona.
