Gilbert Architects is seeking a full-time interior designer to join our Lancaster, Pennsylvania team. This role is ideal for a professional with 3–7 years in interior design or interior architecture.
Duties Responsibilities
- Excellent communication and technical skills
- Coordinating/communicating project needs with the design team, which includes architects, engineers, and marketing professionals
- Generate and develop dynamic design ideas mainly for K–12 education learning environments
- Planning, materiality detailing, and furnishings
- Manage project expectations from concept design through construction administration
- Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and craftspeople.
- Work in all aspects of design, including construction documentation, samples management, budgeting, and estimating.
- Collaborate with other team members to find design solutions that provide the best value to the client
Required Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in interior design or interior architecture
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture from a CIDA-accredited program (preferred)
- Possess a strong desire to learn or build upon an existing career in K–12 education design
- Technical skills in AutoCAD and Revit
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
- Previous commercial or education design experience (preferred)
