Physical Therapy Tech-HHK-Sacaton

Position Summary: Responsible for performing a variety of technical and administrative functions in relation to the operations of the Physical Therapy department under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Manages front desk operations, including patient registration and telephone communications. Assists patients with therapeutic activities as directed by the supervising therapist. Cleans and organizes and cleans physical therapy gyms, other treatment areas, and equipment. Documents maintenance of inventories and patient services.

Critical Tasks:

• Assists Physical Therapists in back office procedures by setting up and cleaning rooms and equipment for ultrasound, E-Stim, thermal agent, and other activities.
• Performs front desk operations, including greeting, clinical scheduling, and telephone communications.
• Provides clinical and exercise instructions and motivational support to patients based on individual therapy needs and the prescriptions of Physical Therapists.
• Completes routine department maintenance by documenting and updating inventories and dispensing simple Durable Medical Equipment, such as braces.
• Performs general care of gym areas, exercise machines, and equipment by cleaning and stocking items.
• Updates and manages department function logs on equipment maintenance and monthly statistics of referrals and patient responses.
• Performs other job-related activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a certified Physical Therapy Technician program or 1 year of experience in a physical therapy, fitness, or medical back office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as MS Word and Excel.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
