General Summary:
Assist in loading, unloading, and staging of finished material being shipped to Gil-Mar’s customers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
The purpose of documentation is to create a data source that promotes production, safety, and the quality of the packing department. Packers will complete each document in an accurate and timely manner.
Handling:
Packers will handle material with care to prevent damage through all stages of packing.
Corrugated shipping containers will be protected against deterioration as needed.
Working Conditions:
Industrial plant setting; continuous exposure to noise. Safety protection required. Must wear safety shoes, ear protection and safety glasses. Must strive for continuous improvement. Overtime required.

- Counts units and checks product identity according to pack schedule/labels
- Packs products in boxes or cartons, following prescribed procedures to ensure safe transportation including adding bubble-wrap and cardboard
- May apply labels or other identification as directed
- Responsible for following documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established specifications.
- Must be able to bend easily at the waist.
- Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
- Must be able to read / follow work instructions.
- Must be able to demonstrate basic math skills.
- Must have demonstrated excellent attendance.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to use small hand tools, including knives, hammers, screw drivers, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be willing to do repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to maintain a high rate of efficiency.
- Hi-Lo license or ability to obtain and retain one preferred.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management.
