Role Description The Manufacturing Maintenance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Livonia, MI. This role oversees maintenance operations for manufacturing equipment and facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating maintenance and repair activities, and troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime. The manager will supervise maintenance technicians, prioritize work orders, manage spare parts inventory, and collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams. The role also involves monitoring maintenance metrics, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Robotic Programming (Fanuc)
- PLC Programming (Allen-Bradly, Siemens)
- Mitsubishi programming for HMI & CPU
- Cognex and Keyence IV software programming
- Cutting and Welding Laser Applications
- Proficient with Electrical Schematics and machine blueprints
- Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electrical.
- Experience with Fixed spindle 3 Axis machining of Aluminum and Steel.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills and experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates should possess equipment maintenance and maintenance & repair skills for a variety of production machinery and support systems.
- Candidates should possess preventive maintenance and maintenance management skills, including planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance activities.
- Experience in automotive or defense manufacturing, with knowledge of safety-critical components and quality standards, is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with maintenance documentation, CMMS or similar systems, and basic computer skills (e.g., MS Office) is preferred.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices; commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in maintenance leadership.
