About Gil-Den Inc.
Gil-Den Inc. is an established parking lot maintenance and site work contractor serving commercial and national clients from Maine to Connecticut. We handle asphalt paving, sealcoating, striping, and site work, plus commercial snow removal in the winter. We’re a 25-person team that keeps a busy fleet moving, and we’re looking for a skilled diesel mechanic to keep it running.
What You’ll Do
You will manage the company fleet which includes diagnose, repair, and maintain our diesel trucks and heavy equipment, including dump trucks, pickups, pavers, rollers, skid steers, loaders, excavators, and plows. By doing preventive maintenance and DOT inspections to keep the fleet compliant and reduce downtime. Work covers engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and drivetrains, with some field repairs on job sites when equipment goes down. Keeping accurate service records and parts orders is important, and getting equipment ready for paving season and snow season.
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of diesel mechanic experience with trucks and/or heavy equipment
- Strong diagnostic skills, including use of computer diagnostic tools
- Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience
- Own hand tools
- Valid driver’s license
- DOT inspection certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, self-directed, and able to prioritize when several machines need attention
- Keeping the shop neat and organized

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
