Role Overview
GigMerch is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Retail Fixture Installers to support a nationwide Dollar General fixture conversion program.
In this role, you will remove existing end-cap fixture components and install new Thaw & Serve display units while ensuring all merchandising is completed according to client specifications. This project requires individuals who are comfortable working independently, following installation instructions, and maintaining a professional relationship with store management throughout each visit.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Preparation & Communication
- Arrive at each assigned Dollar General location on schedule.
- Check in with store management prior to beginning work.
- Review project instructions and confirm the designated installation area.
Fixture Removal & Installation
- De-merchandise existing end-cap displays as required.
- Remove designated fixture components, including shelves, decks, and kickplates, while leaving the existing end frame in place.
- Relocate removed fixture components to the area designated by store management (stockroom, dumpster, or other approved location).
- Unpack, assemble, and install two (2) new Thaw & Serve display units following client installation instructions.
Merchandising Execution
- Re-merchandise products onto the newly installed display units according to provided planograms or merchandising guidance.
- Ensure displays are clean, organized, and presentation-ready before leaving the store.
Project Documentation
- Capture required project photos and completion reporting using the designated reporting platform.
- Report any missing materials, damaged fixtures, or site conditions that prevent successful completion.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the service visit.
About You
Mechanically Inclined
You're comfortable assembling fixtures, using basic hand tools, and following step-by-step installation instructions.
Detail-Oriented
You take pride in quality work and ensure every fixture is installed accurately and professionally.

You arrive on time, communicate effectively, and complete projects as assigned.
Independent
You enjoy working on your own while managing your schedule and responsibilities efficiently.

You represent both GigMerch and our clients with professionalism and respect when interacting with store personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous retail merchandising, fixture installation, assembly, construction, or handyman experience preferred.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
- Smartphone with reliable internet access for reporting and photo submission.
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
Compensation
- $20 per completed store (based on project scope and market)
- Independent Contractor (1099)
- Paid upon successful completion and submission of all required documentation.
