Responsibilities
- Oversee bookkeeping for multiple brands and manage our in-house bookeeper.
- Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Manage payroll.
- Ensure adherence to financial compliance standards.
- Assist with external audits by preparing documentation and supporting schedules related to public accounting standards.
- Conduct reglary analysis to identify discrepancies, savings, or trends.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records across multiple accounting systems.
- Contribute to the development of financial reports for management review and decision-making purposes.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software and willingness to adapt and use our internal ERP.
- Familiarity with inventory, and accounting for COGS.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel data analysis, including advanced formulas and functions.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
- Use of AI to maximize efficiency and time.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards if applicable; experience in non-profit or corporate accounting is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks such as invoice processing, data entry, and account reconciliation efficiently.
