What You’ll Be Doing (We don’t love the bullet points, but we love the work!)

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and keeping mission-critical infrastructure running securely and efficiently. In this role, you will collaborate directly with customer stakeholders and systems integration teams to engineer, administer, optimize, and sustain a secure, closed-network environment spanning multiple locations across Capabilities and Operations. You will have the opportunity to work hands-on with Linux systems, automation, containerization, networking, and security technologies while improving system reliability, streamlining operations, and strengthening infrastructure performance. • Proficiency with the Linux command-line interface (CLI), utilities, and system administration tools
• Experience administering, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux-based systems
• Experience developing Bash and Python automation scripts to simplify system administration, improve operational efficiency, and streamline maintenance activities
• Working knowledge of the Agency's STE/STN security compliance requirements, including implementing and maintaining systems in accordance with established security policies
• Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies, including basic switch configuration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with containerization technologies, including Docker, Podman, and containerd
• Experience developing, maintaining, and updating clear, accurate, and accessible technical documentation, including system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  

Desired Skills

• Experience administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems
• Familiarity with NetApp storage solutions, including storage administration and management
• Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere and vCenter
• Experience using the Atlassian suite of collaboration and project management tools, including Jira and Confluence
• Appreciates a sense of humor and the occasional well-timed joke. 😄
