Mascot

Gifted Stars is looking for an energetic, dependable, and enthusiastic individual to bring our beloved mascot, Stormi, to life! Stormi is a symbol of encouragement, kindness, school spirit, and educational excellence. As our mascot performer, you will help create unforgettable memories for our students while promoting a positive and exciting learning environment.

Visits are typically 30 minutes or less, with occasional appearances at special events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

As Stormi, you will:

• Wear the official Gifted Stars mascot costume during scheduled appearances.
• Greet students with enthusiasm, high-fives, hugs (when appropriate), waves, and fun interactions.
• Read storybooks to preschool and elementary students.
• Present gifts, certificates, or prizes to "Stormi's Star Students" and other student recognition recipients.
• Attend school celebrations, holiday parties, spirit days, field day, family events, open houses, and other special occasions.
• Dance, play games, and participate in age-appropriate classroom activities.
• Pose for photos and videos with students, families, and staff.
• Help create a welcoming, exciting, and encouraging atmosphere throughout the school.
• Follow staff directions and remain in character during appearances whenever possible.
• Treat the mascot costume with care and report any damage after each use.

Qualifications

• Friendly, energetic, and enjoys working with children.
• Comfortable performing in a mascot costume for up to 30 minutes at a time.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Able to move safely while wearing the mascot costume.
• Comfortable dancing, waving, and interacting with large groups of children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality by never revealing the identity of Stormi during school events.
• Experience working with children is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, dance, and move around while wearing the mascot costume.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
• Comfortable wearing the costume indoors and outdoors for short periods.

Schedule

• Approximately 1–2 appearances each month (typically 30 minutes or less).
• Additional opportunities for school events, family nights, holiday celebrations, graduation, community events, summer camp, and promotional activities.

Pay: $45.00 per day
