Travel Cath Lab RN Job in Rahway, New Jersey

Responsibilities:

As a Cath Lab Nurse, assist in critical procedures such as angioplasties, valvuloplasties, and stent placements. Support the implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). As a Cath Lab Nurse, monitor and record vital signs, oxygen levels, and heart rhythms to prepare patients for procedures. Perform contrast injections, initiate IVs, and conduct venipuncture for specimen collection.

Requirements:

• Requires minimum of 2 years of experience in a large cath lab setting; 3 years of experience
• 1 year of experience as a RN
• Valid NJ State RN license or compact license
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Active ACLS & BLS certifications
• Experience with diagnostic cardiac catheterizations involving adult patients.
• Specific skills in interventional cardiology procedures including PCI, stent placement, pacemaker/defibrillator lead removal, and vascular interventions.
• Proficiency in monitoring and circulating procedures, scrubbing, and moderate sedation competence.
• Ability to float within skillset across cardiology and potentially to Newark Beth Israel.
• Experience with equipment such as Merge Hemodynamics, ACIST, IABP, Philips Azurion, IVUS, EKOS, CSI, and thrombectomy devices.
• Charting system experience required; knowledge of Epic.
• Knowledge and adherence to infection prevention, radiation and laser safety.
• Ability to manage complex cardiovascular interventions and emergency medications.
• Presumed active license, with certification compliance at the time of submission.
• Ability to complete required modules and certifications prior to start, including de-escalation training if working in ED/behavioral health/psychiatric units.
• Prior charge experience.
• Scrubbing and circulation experience in cardiac cath labs.
• Hemodynamic measurement and device management experience.
• Experience with transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), pulmonary angiography, and advanced vascular procedures.
• Ability to adapt to schedule accommodations and block scheduling if approved.
• Prior travel or cross-campus floating experience.
• Experience with Lab procedures involving Impella, intracardiac ultrasound, or similar advanced devices.
• Strong understanding of patient acuity management and documentation.
• Background with interventional radiology or electrophysiology labs.
• Knowledge of advanced vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostasis techniques.
• Experience with additional certifications or CEUs related to cardiology/nursing (such as NIHSS).
