Job Description: Stepdown Registered Nurse
The role of a stepdown registered nurse involves providing patient care in transitional units where patients require close monitoring but are not critical enough for intensive care. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and monitoring patient progress, identifying sudden or subtle changes in medical condition
- Calculating drug dosage, titrating medication doses, administering continuous medication infusion, and monitoring patients for effects of medication
- Closely collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
