Position Overview:
Gifted Children, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to work with neurodiverse students. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and supportive learning environment that recognizes diverse learning styles, encourages creativity, and supports both academic and social-emotional development. This role requires someone who can design individualized and differentiated instruction tailored to the needs of neurodiverse learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored for neurodiverse learners.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students with diverse learning profiles.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Monitor and assess student progress through projects, assessments, and individualized feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and classroom activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to enhance educational programming.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification/license (preferred).
- Experience working with neurodiverse learners (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences) is strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to design individualized and differentiated instruction.
Preferred Skills:
- Training or certification in special education or neurodiversity-informed teaching.
- Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs) or similar learning supports.
- Experience with project-based and experiential learning.
- Ability to integrate technology and adaptive learning tools into instruction.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills.
