Duties & Responsibilities

- Prepare specimens, reagents, and instrumentation for testing and/or storage.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory responsibilities.
- Conduct high-complexity laboratory testing including quality control and review and release of test results.
- Complete on-call essential laboratory services for deceased donor organ procurement such as performing tests and reporting results without direct supervision.
- Perform preventative and general maintenance for laboratory work areas, equipment, and instrumentation.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology area of study.
- A minimum of one-year recent relevant clinical laboratory experience.
- Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or equivalent, or Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (ACHI).
- Prior experience in a healthcare organization, transplant center, or organ/tissue procurement organization.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
- Ability to exercise initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook and Teams and other technology systems used in business operations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.

- Ability to produce analytical reports, including financial and statistical analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
