Description

Giffels Webster has an exciting opportunity for a Project Technician to join our Survey Team in Washington Township, Michigan. As a Project Technician, you will service clients in a variety of project needs in and around Metro Detroit. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years' experience.

As a Project Technician you will be responsible for ordering utility records, importing topographic survey data, configuring plan sheets and preparing project plan sets which include site-plan layout, geometrics, grading, pavement design, soil erosion, utility design, traffic plans, details and specifications.

Typical Responsibilities Include

  • Work collaboratively with the team to determine and understand the Client's program and/or objectives.
  • Processing field data and preparing CAD drawings.
  • Requesting and managing utility records and incorporation them into project data.
  • Coordinating with project managers and field crews to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Surveys, easement documents, parcel reconfiguration documents and record drawings.

In-person collaboration and mentoring are paramount to the success of this position. With experience and the approval of your supervisor, you could earn the ability to work a hybrid schedule, up to two days per week remotely and three days in the office.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid driver license.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant survey experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Technical skills with survey instruments and data collection software (Trimble, Leica, or similar) (a plus)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
