What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Editor position at GIE Media, Inc.?
GIE Media, Inc., a b-to-b media company serving a wide range of industries, is seeking a proven digital editor with journalism experience, including writing and editing. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 4 years of experience creating and managing digital content for daily news outlets, magazine web portals or television/radio websites. This includes having the ability interview subjects and writing news and feature articles based on those interviews, as well the ability to produce podcasts and videos using tools such as Adobe Premiere; experience with digital content management platforms and familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus. A bachelor’s or higher degree in journalism, communications/media studies or related fields is preferred. Knowledge of Google Analytics and best SEO practices is a plus. Must have the ability to multitask and work/thrive in a fast-paced environment. Position includes, but is not limited to:
Duties/Responsibilities
-display strong writing and editing skills and have thoughtful editorial discussions that help the team combine print and digital content efforts.
-work with editorial team to steer digital editorial content for publication’s website and other digital offerings.
-maintain and significantly grow presence across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
-oversee daily and weekly web tasks, including editing and posting press releases to conform with the publication's style, daily social media posts and deployment of weekly e-blasts.
-work with editors to further develop the digital audience through original content, web analytics monitoring and SEO reports
-work with sales team to develop and create sponsored content
-occasional travel to trade shows; assisting conference division with in-person and virtual events

GIE Media Inc. is based in Valley View, Ohio. While this is a hybrid position, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in the office three days per week.
