The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at The Gideon Putnam in Saratoga Springs, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, including the maintenance of hotel property, guest areas, back-of-house, and exterior grounds. This role also includes managing the security and safety of the property and leading a team of maintenance staff to ensure high performance and safety compliance. The Maintenance Manager must be knowledgeable of boilers and HVAC systems, mechanically inclined, and capable of identifying and resolving maintenance issues efficiently. Experience with vehicle maintenance is required, including scheduling repairs and inspections. Strong leadership, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends as needed.

Pay
Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $62,354 – $76,800 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?
- Oversee the operation of all electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, services, and equipment
- Perform carpentry, painting, and other maintenance needs
- Train team members on department policies and procedures to ensure a safe, effective work environment
- Ensure all paperwork, work orders, reports, and logs are completed and maintained
- Participate in fire prevention and other safety programs
- Operate company motor vehicle as necessary
More about you
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team
- Must have computer knowledge including Microsoft office products (word, excel and email)
- Experience with machinery, metalworking, landscaping
- Must have a general knowledge of the use of simple equipment used in building trades
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- No degree required
- Union experience preferred but not mandatory
Physical requirements
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb ladders to perform repairs
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds occasionally
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons
