Position Summary:
The position of Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a customer experience based on Gibsons Restaurant Group’s philosophy, and four distinct core beliefs: Hospitality, Quality, Value and Family. This role must demonstrate leadership within the restaurant to obtain and maintain customer and staff confidence and respect. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for supporting the staff and General Manager to ensure that dining room and bar customers receive superior customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Managers and General Manager throughout each shift to maintain optimum customer experience
- Based on Spotter Reports and Guest Surveys, among other forms of customer input, works with managers and GM to improve customers’ restaurant experience and increase their loyalty
- Actively work to drive YOY increases in covers
- Work with corporate concierge liaison to attract hotel guests to the restaurant; track results for managers and GM
- Meet and greet customers promptly, courteously, and graciously, addressing customers by name whenever possible
- Assist in managing the door and maintaining the wait list, as appropriate; inform customers of approximate wait time and where they can wait for a table; inform customers when their table is prepared
- Answer phones; manage reservations and notes in Open Table; take to-go orders, receive payment and bring food to customers when they arrive, as needed
- Escort customers to tables and provide menus
- Arrange parties or special services for customers
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients, and daily specials
- Monitor staff uniforms and appearance for cleanliness and compliance with restaurant policy
- Circulate through the dining room and bar area making table touches and checking on customers’ experience
- Manage customer complaints and dissatisfaction in a prompt and professional manner; determine necessary adjustments; inform managers of complaint and resolution with customer. Note: Staff manager will determine staff communication and response
- Anticipate and respond to customers’ needs by constantly scanning the room
- Respond properly in any dining room emergency or safety situation
- Monitor dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness
- Inspect menus and lists to ensure their condition and appearance
- May perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent and at least one year of experience and/or working in a customer service role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and collaborate with internal and external resources to create solutions and to meet customer needs and expectations. Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers both on the phone and in person. Must display initiative in seeking to ensure that every customer is receiving superior customer service and having a great experience.Must maintain professionalism in high stress situations with both customers and. Must be able to utilize basic computer skills for data entry. Must be able to read and interpret basic documents.
Salary : $60,000 - $75,000
