What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Pharmacy Technician (Spanish/English) – Long Term position at Gibson Pharmacy?
About Us: We are a hard-working, goal-oriented, family-owned pharmacy in Irving. We specialize in hospice medication delivery, retail and non-sterile compounding. Because we are a small business, we do not hire often. We are looking for a dedicated, long-term addition to our team who wants a permanent place to work and grow.
Located in the heart of Irving, our pharmacy proudly serves a large Hispanic patient and family population. Providing clear, compassionate communication and high-value customer service to our Spanish-speaking neighbors is at the core of what we do.
Because we are dedicated to ensuring every patient fully understands their medications and hospice care instructions, fluency in both Spanish and English is a non-negotiable requirement for this position. We are looking for a technician who can bridge the gap for our families and provide the high level of care they deserve.
We pride ourselves on being flexible; we work with our employees and always treat them fairly. In return, we have very high expectations. If you do not excel when held to high standards, this job is not for you. We value a great attitude, teamwork, and a willingness to learn over someone who is overly qualified but isn't a team player. You should live reasonably close to the pharmacy location. I will not hire anyone that lives over 40 minutes away from the business as it will affect punctuality.
The Role: We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Bilingual Pharmacy Technician to support our team. You will handle the fundamental duties of a pharmacy technician, assist with non-sterile compounding, and help keep the pharmacy organized and running smoothly.
- Starting Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- Transition: This role will move to full-time (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) in the very near future, possibly within next 2 weeks.

- Prescription Management: Efficiently filling prescriptions, labeling, and ensuring accuracy in all orders.
- Pharmacy Upkeep: Organizing shelves, managing inventory, and helping maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the pharmacy interior.
- Hospice Support: Supporting our specialized hospice medication delivery operations.
- Compounding: Assisting with non-sterile compounding (must be open to learning this if you don't already have experience).
- Tech Efficiency: Processing prescriptions quickly—you must be fast and accurate on the computer.
- Customer Service: Providing exceptional, compassionate service to our patients and partners in both English and Spanish.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Language: Must be fluent in both Spanish and English.
- Work Ethic & Expectations: Highly reliable, punctual, and proactive. Being late or lazy is strictly unacceptable. We are looking for a professional who is ready to work.
- Computer Skills: Must be fast and comfortable working on a computer and open to learning new software.
- Adaptability: Must be flexible and eager to improve your skills.
- Team Player: We prioritize dedication and a willingness to jump in and help over someone who prefers to work solo.
