Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will either be a recently licensed (PA) attorney with an interest in litigation or a (PA) licensed attorney with 1-3 years of litigation experience. Interest in litigation is a must. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex litigation cases within a collaborative legal office environment. The Litigation Associate will be responsible for managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process. Candidates must demonstrate excellent writing skills and proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and strategy.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and clarity.
- Assist in preparing cases for trial by organizing evidence, witness lists, and exhibits.
- Manage case files efficiently and ensure all documentation complies with court requirements.
- Support attorneys in negotiations, settlement discussions, and client communications.
- Review and analyze legal documents.
- Attend court proceedings as needed to observe or assist with litigation activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in legal research platforms including LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal drafts.
- Effective negotiation skills for settlement discussions or dispute resolution.
- Prior experience in a law office setting is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong analytical skills for case analysis and strategic planning.
