What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Gibson Inc and Careers?
Primary responsibility of the Material Handler is picking, packing, and shipping world-class guitars. We are seeking career-oriented individuals who desire to become a part of a world-class team. This is a full-time position in an aggressive, fast-paced distribution environment.
Essential Functions
- Warehouse and shipping experience is desired.
- Ideal candidates will transition between performing packing activities and assisting in the shipment of orders.
- Housekeeping duties within the Distribution Center
- Restock the area with the necessary supplies
Other duties
- Employee can be asked to perform other duties that are reasonable within the area of expertise
- Assist in the removal of Hazardous waste from the site
Required Skills/Abilities
- Attention to detail
- Small piece part production
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
- Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Solutions oriented approach to challenges/issues
- Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Results oriented, taking ownership of goals and objectives.
- Must be a self-starter
- Mandatory overtime on an as needed basis
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience should center on daily production requirements

- Periodic travel to and between the company’s manufacturing locations may be required (5-10%)
