Role Description
We are seeking a seasoned Clio Billing Contractor to manage our firm’s monthly invoicing workflow. We need a specialist who can work independently to move our billing from "draft" to "final approval" with minimal oversight. This is a contract-based role ideal for a freelance legal professional or a specialized legal billing agency.
The Workflow You will be responsible for the end-to-end billing cycle within Clio Manage:
- Run: Generate draft invoices for all active matters at the start of the billing period.
- Review: Audit time entries for grammar, clarity, and consistency. Ensure all billable expenses and disbursements are captured.
- Revise: Apply adjustments, write-downs, or discounts as per firm policy. Ensure Trust-to-Operating transfers are correctly allocated.
- Submit: Route polished, "client-ready" invoices to the Partner for final sign-off via Clio’s approval workflow.
Qualifications
- Expert-Level Clio Knowledge: You must be highly proficient in Clio Manage (specifically the Billing and Trust modules).
- Legal Industry Fluency: You understand the nuances of legal billing, including IOLTA/Trust compliance.
- Autonomous Operator: As a contractor, you are expected to provide your own equipment/software and manage your own schedule to meet our firm's monthly deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: You catch the typos and inconsistencies that our attorneys miss.
